It’s no secret that affiliate marketers are selling on facebook.
Whether its affiliates for amazon, warrior, jvzoo, or any other affiliate marketing vendor they are leveraging the super power that is facebook. Selling on facebook has a number of different faces. I hope this post will help you find what works best.
First let’s talk about why selling on facebook is essential. Zephoria Digital Marketing put out an article (link to article that states “Worldwide, there are over 1.86 billion monthly active Facebook users (Facebook MAUs) which is a 17 percent increase year over year. (Source: Facebook as of 02/01/17) What this means for you: In case you had any lingering doubts, statistically, Facebook is too big to ignore.” So You can see the sheer necessity of implementing this into your marketing plan.
As you all know I am still quite new to internet marketing. You can check out a post I did here about how I got started in affiliate marketing. If you have been following me, you would know facebook is where most of my magic occurs. Selling on facebook has made me see the incredible potential of affiliate marketing. If you are new or considering getting started with affiliate marketing I hope this will help give you some ideas on how you can make some cash with this great opportunity.
First, you need to be a member of some kind of affiliate program. I highly suggest Castaway Commissions, its easy and newbie friendly and affordable. For more information on that I wrote a blog post on it here . If you are looking to go head deep into affiliate marketing here is another one I highly suggest called the 7 Figure Franchise. But at the end of the day, it really doesn’t matter which you pick. But you must work the system.
The methods I am about to share with you are the exact methods I used when I got started selling on facebook that made me $231.08 in 2 weeks posting only a few times a day as a newbie.

By now I am assuming that you have chosen some type of affiliate program to promote, so let’s get started.
Method 1 for Selling on facebook
You may be unaware of this but facebook loves to keep people on facebook. Selling on facebook is frowned upon by Mr. Zuckerberg. Unless you are paying for ads. Thanx Mark. And if you are like me, cheap and or broke (I am both), this isn’t an option. You see facebook does this dreaded thing where when you post a link that leads people out of facebook they will show your post to less people. You may have even noticed this when you post a link to some article online that gets like 2 likes. So how do we fix this? Well, it’s simple. If you are selling an affiliate offer on facebook this is what you do. Post an image related to what you are offering and write some pithy description without your link in it. It should look something like this.
You see? No link? But what do you notice? I gave people a call to action. I told them to act should they be interested. I told them to contact me for the link. This certainly qualifies as a micro-commitment. This is key when selling period. One of my favorite quotes that I will never forget when I was in corporate America was this, “Closed mouths don’t get fed!” Its just another way of saying how the bible words it “you have not because you ask not” (James 4:2). You need to be directing your audience what to do. This is like the first rule of sales anyway. When you give this method a go, you will surely see a difference.
Method 2 for Selling on Facebook
This one is a variation of the first, but still has the same effect. Instead of using the “message me” call to action, direct your potential buyer to your comments section.
With this one, facebook is not seeing it as part of your post, but part of the comments, which is different in their eyes. You still want to give a call to action like “click the link in the comments”. Forget simply selling on facebook, this is a general rule to selling period. Always be closing. Always be directing the potential buyer to do something. Guide them along. Give directives. Don’t be a dingleberry, but nudge people in the direction you want them to go. You do this by giving them the directions. Simple right?
Method 3 for selling on facebook
I still like putting links in the description, and I still do it every once in a while. But I immediately see the difference in engagement when I put the unashamed affiliate link in the post. Little engagement. Now to be clear, you can’t be boring. Boring is even worse than posting a link. Be entertaining, be controversial, and if you must post a link in the post do it like this.
Do you see what I did with the link? I put a space by the .com. I indicate to my audience that they need to remove the space (which is a call to action). Doing this has worked quite well for me so far. Now all 3 of these methods for selling on facebook I utilize still to this day. And it does well for me.
Now I am still no millionaire, but I hope to make enough money selling on facebook that I can scale up to other forms of traffic when it comes time for that, and I will certainly let you guys know what I find.
